Taeyang "Ringa linga" music video review

Taeyang, a member of the world known boy group BigBang, has yet again entered the solo stage with a smashing hit of a song - "Ringa linga".

This time with a heavy feel of hip hop and grounded dance moves, which is already loved by many dancers, not only in Korea but also in America.

Taeyang stands firm as a solo artist, and the path ahead of him looks bright if he keeps this up.

Taeyangs vocals have and will always been amazing. And obviously this is no different. He has a shrill voice which really fits both him and the hip hop feel to the music. It makes the listener cringe, but in a good way as there is send chills down their spine. This shrill voice is simply epic.
Taeyang starts of the song by doing some talking/singing. It is a cool way to open the song and let the listener drown in his smooth voice. It also chances from singing to rapping, which is most clear when the chorus begins. There is a heavier feel to the chorus, but this also makes it all the more catchy because it differs from the rest of the song. It is memorable and there is, like all k-pop songs, those small parts where it's easy to sing along.
The hip hop feel that is present in "Ringa linga" is a feeling that haven't been present in Taeyangs older songs, where the RnB feeling have been the heavy factor to his songs. It is great to see this change and it fits him perfectly, as he manages to change his voice in different ways.
Taeyang also has this moment in the song where he really stretches the words that he sings and uses an extra shrill voice at the same time. This moment really stands out as it shows how his voice is able to take different forms in different situations. He is able to have a smooth, silky voice when singing "wedding dress" and then manages to have a heavy almost rough voice in "Ringa linga". He is no doubt amazing.

The Video is "one of a kind" (pun right there), as it uses the light and effects in ways i personally haven't seen before. Right from the start, it is obvious  that there is a use of deeper colors and contrasts. These two things is also used together as there is a use of a lot of cold colors and the a little bit of warm colors in the very same scene. This makes the music video pop a bit, as there is something to move it all away from what could be very boring to watch, and with a simple addition makes the whole scene awesome and interesting.

The second thing that have been used that i definitely haven't seen anywhere else in k-pop music videos is the use of black-lights. This addition to a short amount of the video really makes it special. Even though the contrasts is cool and interesting, it could have been a long music video to only look at that, and with the use of the black-lights there is a very cool and memorable addition to this songs video.

At the very end there is some kind of party with a lot of different people. This was simply just enjoyable to watch and made the end something worth mentioning as it didn't just end with a cool pose, but with a party with people playing, dancing and swinging in what looks like round monkey bars. And with Taeyangs epic back flip of a car in slow motion this ending was nothing to be disappointed about and it lived up to the rest of this amazing song and music video.

Taeyang as finaly listened to his fans and brought a bit of his old characteristic hair style - the Mohawk back. This time it's all white and differs from being either shoulder length or a bit shorter. But even with a longer version this style will always fit Taeyang the best. But though the great hair is back, there is also some disappointment in the other hair style he rocks. The cap and braid hair style is just not working. He tried with the cornrows braid in GD's "one of a kind" mv, and that didn't work either. His Mohawk is a beloved accessory to him, and that will always be the best for him. Taeyang...please stick to the Mohawk.

His clothe is something that he works very well. Though there is a shirt that is way too long, and makes him look smaller than he really is, he mannages to work all of the clothe because of his confidence. The black long sleeved shirt is, when not looking at the shirtless outfit, the sexiest outfit he wears throughout the whole mv. This shirt is tight around him, but still loose enough to not look awkward. In his sleeveless shirts he works some black stripes on his arms. This is a nice finishing touch, and the whole outfit would probably be missing something without these black tribal looking markings.

Ending off with his dance, there is not much to say besides words already mentioned plenty of times in this review: epic, awesome, great, cool and well just the best he has done so far.
This dance is stronger, more hardcore and sharper than any other dance routine Taeyang has ever done. The sureal strength used in this dance brings it all to life. Without the strength this could very fast become sloppy and weird to look at, but Taeyang manages to work this dance, and that is obvious as he is known for his amazing dancing skills.
Not only is he showing everyone why he is known from his dance. He even get praised by american dancers like Parirs Coebel, the dance choreographer for Jenifer Lopez. This just shows how Taeyang really knows how to works his body just the right way.

So is this song as amazing as i personally think, or is it a flop? Can you see why Jenifer Lopez choreographer praised Taeyang? Let me know <3
