Starting of my talking about the music.
When I first heard it I got a feeling that the melody had somehow managed to incorporate older sounds with a new beat to create the music. There was a distant sound of an electric keyboard which contributed to the older sounding music. Also the basic, again, kind of electric beat had a factor in the rhythm. But even though there was this elderly sound, it was a very fresh and upbeat song. It made me bob my head to the rhythm, and really enjoy the music. You kind of just grove with the music as it goes.
The composer really did a great job in combining the two sounds and making it so you wouldn't notice it if you didn't look for it. It really made it sound like something new and that really made LC9 stand out from the large crowd of k-pop groups and stars. This melody was a fantastic choice to debut with, and I will look forward to their future music.
Their voices are really something. They all sound different and that is something that is very noticeable, because their are a lot of groups where you have to know who is who, and use a lot of energy and time to be able to tell them apart. These boys all have their own sound in their voices, and that makes them even better and someone you really should look forward to hear more from. Every time a new group member began singing it was clear as day, but it wasn't something that was bothersome. Their voices really match each other, and when ever someone new sings it doesn't feel out of place. The rap was also something to really take a notice of as it, like i said before, doesn't seen off. It was very well incorporated into the song, and mixed so well with everything else that you don't really notice that the style of singing changed.
Gain from "Brown eyed girls" was featured in this song, and as the group itself is being called the boy version of "brown eyed girls" it really makes sense to bring one of them into the song. That was a really nice touch.
There was a constant repetition of the line "Ride mama beat" making the name of the song logical, but it also made a first time listener sing along as it was clear when it was being sung. It somehow pulled the listener into the song a bit more, and that really was a great though. The sentence might also refer to simply asking us to ride with the beat they are making, and if that is the case, then they will definitely make us do it.
The song was basically really catchy!
Moving on to the MV.
As soon asIi had watched about 30 second of the MV i couldn't stop thinking about games like Tekken, street fighter or a fighting scene form a movie.
The whole MV concentrates on a friendly fight between the members, (Friendly because you can see them fist bumping at the start and laughing and smiling in the end) and the whole fighting game theme is very obvious as most of them gets glowing fists somewhere in the MV or eyes glowing like robots. It all seem very unrealistic because of this, but also the superhuman strength and extremely high pain tolerance shows this unrealism.

The MV start of by showing the company logo. And that's it. The music starts and the video to. There is no long explanation to what is happening, or any music in the start that really doesn't have anything to do with the actual MV. This is really nice as a lot of MV's have longer and longer intros that take up most of the time. Sometimes we just want to click play and listen to the music, not some intro that we don't care about. "MaMa Beat" shoved a short clip of them fist bumping and getting ready, but that was for about 5 second. That is managable to wait for, and that was really well done.
There was also the little things that happened. As they fought, they stumble into different things, or being hit wile standing against them or lying on them. Here it is a nice tough that various of the surroundings acts with them. The car doors opening when one of them is being hit in the chest and a tire flying when one of them is leaning on it and gets punched. That was a really nice touvh, and it made the whole scene look bore believable.

Lastly - their style.
This was something that struck me very late when looking at the MV for the 6th time as i was analyzing it. Their hair looks as it has been set with a lot of products that will stiffen it, but whenever they move their hair flows in a natural way. That really struck me as amazing.
The colors of their clothe fit the theme. They are all rather dark, but still with colors like purple, different kinds of cloves or patterns like leopard. It was well done to put in some variation and subtle but colorful clothe into their style. It really fit the theme of the video and song, and ads that little fighting spice into it all. But it is not overly don't, and that is appreciated.
One thing I thought was out of place though, was the fact that one member was wearing a cap with the word "Joyful" on it. It didn't really fit into the whole theme, but it wasn't something really noticeable as he takes it of later in the MV.
All in all this was a great MV and song. It really grabbed my attention. What do you think? Was the violence to much, as some people think, or do you like it? Let me know <3
